Introduction

Date of Opening : 14th Oct'1996

NABARD being an Apex Development Bank promotes agriculture and rural development through refinance support to all banks for investment credit and to Co-operatives and RRBs for production credit.  The objective of providing refinance to eligible institutions is to supplement their resources for delivering credit for agriculture,cottage & village industries, SSIs , rural artisans, etc., thus influencing the quantum of lending in consonance with the policy of Govt. of India.  It directs the policy, planning and operational aspects in the field of credit for agriculture and integrated rural development .

Besides the refinancing activity it discharges the developmental functions which are as under :

The basic functions of district development office is planning,monitoring and co-ordination.

RIDF : Uder RIDF NABARD had assisted Rs.1000.00 lakhs for expansion of 49 LIPs in the district during 1995-96 . In 1996-97 NABARD had sanctioned Rs.168.00 lakhs for construction of Batari Minor Irrigation Project which has been completed.

Promotional Projects : We have sanctioned Rs.15.00 lakhs to Samanwita Grama Unnayan Samit for Training-cum- Production centre and promotion of SHG along with other projects. Two promotional projects under ARWIND scheme were sanctioned to two NGOs for imparting training to tribal women for applique and artistic bamboo crafts.

Training : We are organising  various training programmes/workshops on SHG,NFS, VVV,Minor irrigation, Gender Sansitisation Programme, etc. at district level.

Model Projects and Unit Cost : We prepare various model projects and finalise the unit cost of various activities under farm sector.

SHG : At present 37 SHGs are linked to banks for credit. Recently NABARD had decided to extend Revolving Fund Assistance to NGOs for on-lending to SHGs.
